ABOUT
“You will Laugh, Cry, Dance, Sing and Drink along with Friends and Strangers Alike!”
James Harriman takes a nostalgic Folk-Rock sound and collides it with a Rock N Roll attitude creating a sound that brings old and new together.
James first hit the live music circuit in Birmingham in 2015 bursting onto the acoustic scene with a looper pedal and his signature larger than life live persona. Inspired by the likes of Frank Turner, Steve Knightley and Billy Bragg James wrote folk songs. After moving to Bath in 2016 for university, James' fell in love with the Southwest's unique ‘left field’ festival music. He collided his sound with influences from artists such as Gaz Brookfield, The Levellers, and of course the legendary Wurzels. And thus, the James Harriman sound was born.

"I think James Harriman Should Go On Tour With The Wurzels" - Chris Arnold (BBC Radio Bristol)
Over the past ten years James has released an eclectic range of music. His debut single ‘Half Past Two’ was a folk-punk influenced song about student life, a song that is still a hit with his audience to this day. He has contributed to ‘Pop Crossover’ hits ‘Snakes and Ladders’ and ‘Love and Faith and Lust’ that are reminiscent of indie pop artists such as Sabrina Carpenter and Matt Maltese. James’ most recent festive EP release ‘Almost Christmas Vol 1’ saw a return to James’ Traditional folk roots with a more authentic acoustic sound with the lead single ‘Between The Seasons’ fast becoming a fan favourite in James’ live setlist. There really is something for everyone.
“James can fabricate the folk retro feel into the contemporary world we live in… Like Dylan’s music, the stories he can weave for us, James Harriman is an avatar who can create something out of nothing.” – Wes Banderson (IndieMusicFlix)
James is also a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community. He has had the pleasure of performing live sets, as well as DJ sets, in pride events across the country. Most recently, he was honoured to be alongside many others making history as part of Bath’s first ever official pride event.
Truthfully, James Harriman plays the music he would enjoy listening to. If you like it too, that’s a bonus. Over the past ten years James has grown a dedicated following, and a reputation for his immense live shows.
“James Harriman’s music is a masterful blend of heartfelt storytelling and compelling melodies, proving his exceptional talent in the acoustic spectrum. His ability to craft a vivid narrative through music stands out.” – Will Lisil (Queer People News)
