James Harriman's newest single "Another Song About Drinking (I'll Cheers To That)" will be available on St Patrick's Day, Wednesday 17th March. It is available to PRE ORDER/PRE SAVE now. "I Wrote This As My 'The Barley Mow'. A Song To Sing With Your Friends In A Pub While Consuming An Entire Beverage In Two Minutes. I wanted to release something fun for people to enjoy in these tough times. I've got a whole album of sad songs ready to release, but nobody wants that right now, I hope this song puts a smile on your face. If it does I've done my job" - James Harriman The song takes influence from the sound of large 'trad-folk' bands such as 'Bellowhead', "The Levellers", and 'Bruce Springsteen and The Sessions Band", as well as the feel good vibe of "The Wurzels", "Tankus The Henge" and "Skinny Lister". The whole song feels like it is played by multiple people in one room. However, this is not the case. The song was produced by James Harriman in his home studio in late 2020. As is usual in his music, James plays most of the instruments you hear. The song has session playing from Finlay Bradley on drums, and Piano and Accordion from John Hare (known for playing with "Nick Parker And The False Alarms" and "Gavin Osborn and The Comments Section"). This month the "Listen To This Playlist' is a little different. I've picked two of my favourite songs from each month to create an annual review of my favourite songs from this year. There’s also 12 of my favourite Christmas songs mixed in, and some James Harriman tunes too. Just over two hours of music I think you should check out! It was really hard to only pick two songs from each month, there was so much great music. Below is a breakdown of all the songs and a little explanation of why I included them. You can also click on each month to visit the playlist archives and listen to all the music I was enjoying this year.
